After Forbes’ released their list of the highest paid musicians in 2015, it became quite evident that live music is the key to money-making. 9 out of the 10 musicians on this list toured extensively, which is why despite another artist raking in millions through selling albums, it is often the live performers who earn a spot on the highest-paid list. Given below are the ten musicians who were paid the most the past year:
1. Katy Perry
Earning an astounding $135 million last year, Katy Perry is not only the first person on this list, but she is also the third richest celebrity in the world. 2. One Direction

4. Taylor Swift
America’s sweetheart, Taylor Swift, made $80 million last year from the sales of her album, 1989 as well as the tour that followed its release. Often called the Number 1 musician in the music industry in the current times, Taylor Swift seems to do no wrong as she continuously delivers hits like Blank Space and Wildest Dreams.

The former NSYNC star has been a pop culture icon for years now. As a solo artist and actor, Justin Timberlake made $63.5 million last year– mostly through the 59 tour dates he played during his tour. He also has several endorsement deals, which add greatly to his bank account.
8. P. Diddy
Making $60 million last year, Sean Combs (known better by his stage name P. Diddy or Puff Daddy) is one of the world’s foremost hip-hop recording artists. He is the only one on this list who did not amass his wealth from touring extensively. Instead, he earns a constant income from several other ventures like his clothing line Sean John.
9. Fleetwood Mac
Despite being a band which reached its highest peak of popularity in the 1990s, Fleetwood Mac is still earning millions. Making $59.5 million through its tour On With The Show, the band played a staggering amount of 86 concerts during its travels.
10. Lady Gaga
Last, but most definitely not the least, is Lady Gaga. The eccentric and multi-talented musician has always remained in the forefront of the music industry- whether it was through her hit singles like Poker Face or her outrageous meat dress. Thus, it is only fitting that the singer made $59 million last year, from her tour as well from various endorsements from the likes of Versace.
