This is the time of the year when the third year students results are out and everyone is in a hurry to get a job. However job opportunities are very vast in every field but you must also know about some job etiquettes . So, today I’ll be telling you guys about 10 things you should keep in mind before going for an interview.
1. Never lie in a resume
Do not lie, even if you survive that interview and on the job, if you are asked to the task again you will be caught red handed. Employees will have second thoughts about you. Lying can put you into a big blunder .
2. Examine and study about the company
You need to research fully and study the entire what about and how about doing of the company so that you will be more knowledgeable if the interviewer asks you about the company profile. Be well versed about the overall summary of the company.
3. Never say negative about your previous employer
The common thing which everyone must follow strictly is that you should never utter a single negative judgement about your previous employer and also about whether you have left the organisation on the bad note.
4. Keep a copy of the resume
Do not forget to keep 3 to 5 copies of your CV whole going for an interview . Do not assume that HR people must be having your CV. Keep extra copies with passport size photographs too.
5. Dress appropriate
While going on an interview your utmost focus should be on your outfit. Wear formal clothes to give yourself more sophisticated and professional look.
6. Brush up your body language
Be aware of what you are communicating through your posture and stance. For example do not cross your hands and legs while sitting this sends a message that you are disinterested or defensive .
7. Show willingness to learn
Always show that you’re willing to learn even if you’re graduated form the highest level in the academic world.
8. Be Punctual
Always be punctual, be 10 or 20mins prior to the interview. Being late can throw a bad and careless impression on the interviewer.
9. Ask the employer for follow ups
Ask the employer the next step in the hiring process; know when and from whom you should expect to hear next
10. Send a proper thank you
After the interviewer gets concluded offer a firm handshake and say proper thank you with a smile. Make eye contact and depart gracefully.
